As former President of NCRMLS and the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®, along with numerous leadership roles, Clif’s commitment to the industry has culminated in his recent nomination for the RPAC Hall of Fame in 2024. Larry and Cherri Cheek represent a dynamic husband-and-wife partnership that has seamlessly integrated their expertise with that of their son and daughter-in-law, Clif and Katherine Cheek, to establish The Cheek Team, a distinguished boutique brokerage. Larry Cheek, a proud native of Rockingham, North Carolina, embarked on his professional journey at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1974. He then pursued dentistry at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, graduating in 1978. Following his education, Larry returned to Rockingham to open a private dental practice, which he successfully operated until 1985. After selling his practice, he relocated to the coast with Cherri, where they established a new dental office in Calabash, North Carolina, while raising their three sons—Clifton, Grayson, and Baxter—in Sunset Beach. In 2000, Larry transitioned from dentistry to real estate, driven by his background as an investor and a keen interest in the industry. He founded Resort Brokerage & Consulting, Inc. The Cheek Team was established in 2017 through the merger of Resort Brokerage and Keller Williams Realty. In 2025, the team separated from the Keller Williams franchise to focus on their unique talents and strengths as a boutique brokerage. Larry excels in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate and is recognized not only as a broker but also as a trusted consultant and a beloved member of his community. His many accomplishments and leadership roles reflect his dedication to the field. Cherri Cheek stands out as a passionate leader, educator, and mentor, deeply committed to her family and community. Her efforts have significantly modernized Sunset Beach during her tenure on the town council and her five terms as Mayor. Presently, she is actively involved in the Foundation Board for the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, having served as Vice Chair from 2005 to 2009. Cherri’s exceptional contributions to her community were recognized when she was awarded the Woman of the Year Impact Award by the Brunswick Chamber.
