Judy Weiniger: I’m Judy Weiniger and I’m the broker owner of Weiniger Realty in Warren, New Jersey.
Molly McKinley: Perfect. So tell me what makes you or tell me what do you think about the word undisruptable?
Judy Weiniger: To me undisruptable doesn’t concern me. It’s one of those things that I know is a buzzword in our industry right now. And for me it’s really just tuning out the noise, and staying true to what your vision is. And as long as you’re clear on what that is, really, there’s no need to be concerned.
Judy Weiniger: Undisruptable is really being fully clear and staying to the true vision of your belief. Opening Weiniger Realty was that exact thing. There was something in the industry that was missing for me and I knew that staying focused on what really mattered to the consumer, the heart, the competence, the truth of transparency, all of that makes us undisruptable.
Molly McKinley: Why aren’t you, what about being concerned about disruption here?
Judy Weiniger: Disruption actually doesn’t concern me. For me being clear on my vision and the purpose of what we’re doing at Weiniger Realty that keeps all of the noise out and the disruption out.
Molly McKinley: Yep. That’s good. Is there a moment or a story that you have that sort of embodies the above and beyond that you do every day?
Judy Weiniger: I think for me it’s actually a struggle trying to showcase the world really what we truly do as real estate agents. And I think it’s a struggle. The consumers believe one thing or see one thing and it’s just this little piece of the puzzle. Finding a buyer for your seller is the easiest part. Finding that dream house is actually the easiest part. It’s all of those other things of understanding your client’s needs and making sure you reach their goals of what timeframe they need and taking them through the whole process of what it really means to buy a home and finding a mortgage broker that you can trust. And what happens if the appraisal doesn’t come through? What will that mean to me? I mean there’s so many parts of the process that nobody talks about and I’m passionate about showing that and knowing they can come to me with any questions.
Molly McKinley: That’s awesome. So what are some of the things that you’re doing to protect your business or to crowd out the noise?
Judy Weiniger: Yeah. The thing we’re doing at our company that I feel is very different from what you hear in the outside world of real estate as we lead with humanity, that the person we’re working with is a human just like we are, and it’s understanding what their needs are and their goals and that’s paramount.
Molly McKinley: That’s awesome. How important is your reputation in this industry?
Judy Weiniger: I’m so glad you asked me that. To me, reputation is absolutely everything. When I started back in the business in 2003 I knew I had a moment where not only was I building my reputation to the consumer, but I was building my reputation to every single real estate agent that I was to meet. Starting from day one in the business again. And I knew with every shake of a hand or eye to eye contact with another broker that I was building a long term relationship with them. Fifteen years later, that is paying off for me and my business for my clients because when I’m up against with another agent on the other side, we’re partners. We’re not adversaries.
Molly McKinley: That’s great. What would you want to tell somebody who is nervous about all that’s happening?
Judy Weineger: I would tell someone who’s nervous about all the technology and the disruption and all this noise stay true. Stay true to who you are. And why did you get into the business to begin with? Was it your heart because you care about people? Follow that and you’ll have no trouble at all.
Judy Weineger: There is so much noise out there, but I would say to anyone who is concerned about that is to just go inward really. Stay true to who you are. Why did you get into the business to begin with? And most of us who are successful, it’s because we love people. It’s not because we love homes, it’s because we care about other people’s heart and this amazing journey of buying a home and selling a home. So stay true to that. And there’s really no worry at all.
Molly McKinley: Any words of wisdom that you want to share? Anything else that you want to say?
Judy Weiniger: I went into this crazy journey of opening up my own brokerage because I felt that the consumer needed to hear more and they needed to know more. And Weiniger Realty is a place where I know and I hope and I pray, all of my customers, my consumers, my community, my agents, know they will always get a straight answer from me.
